Figures are from our own survey (as of September 29, 2026) of sales on Japanese marketplaces over the last 30 days. They are reference prices from third-party sales, not our selling prices. Our views are for reference only and are not investment advice.
How the ranking works
Only sealed Japanese-edition products are counted. For each product, the number of sales recorded in the last 30-day window is divided by the number of days the records cover, and products are ranked by sales per day. Prices are the median sale price for a single unit. Where the records cover fewer than 30 days, we divide by the days actually covered.
| Rank | Product | Sales per day | Median price per unit | Days covered |
|---|---|---|---|---|
What the top ten look like
Seven of the top ten are MEGA series products (ranks 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9 and 10) and three are Scarlet & Violet products (ranks 4, 5 and 8). By type, six are expansion-pack boxes, three are high-class or enhanced expansion-pack boxes, and one is a starter deck. Median prices per unit range from ¥1,174 for the starter deck at #1 to ¥53,999 for ポケモンカード151 at #4. Further down, イーブイヒーローズ at #20 has the highest median in the top 20, at ¥144,499.
The top five, one by one
#1 MEGA スタートデッキ100「バトルコレクション」 At 41.43 sales per day it has the most, but it is a starter deck rather than a box. The median price per unit is ¥1,174 across 27 single-unit sales, and the records cover 9.65 days.
#2 Storm Emeralda (M6) The most traded box, at 33.57 sales per day. The 860 sales in the window fall within 25.62 days. The median price per box is ¥11,000 (451 single-box sales), and the lowest listing on September 29 was ¥10,800. It was released on July 31, 2026.
Our view Two months after release, Storm Emeralda (M6) is still the most traded expansion box. Because the lowest listing of ¥10,800 sits below the ¥11,000 median, we think sellers are now putting turnover ahead of price. We read this as opening demand on a well-supplied product rather than a shortage premium. For box buyers, availability has improved before prices have moved much. If the median falls below ¥10,800 within 2 weeks after the October 16 release of the 30th CELEBRATION card set, we will revise our view and conclude that demand has shifted to the new product.
#3 MEGA Dream ex (M2a) 29.05 sales per day. The median price per box is ¥12,399 (482 single-box sales), and the lowest listing on September 29 was ¥12,100. Ten months after its November 28, 2025 release, it remains in the top three.
#4 スカーレット&バイオレット 強化拡張パック「ポケモンカード151」 22.62 sales per day, with a median of ¥53,999 per box (341 single-box sales), the highest price in the top ten. The records cover 17.68 days.
#5 スカーレット&バイオレット ハイクラスパック「テラスタルフェスex」 17.44 sales per day, with a median of ¥18,430 per box (188 single-box sales). The records cover 17.66 days.
Our view We think ポケモンカード151 and テラスタルフェスex sit among the MEGA boxes in the top five because buyers keep paying high prices to hold them sealed. At 22.62 and 17.44 sales per day, both trade more often than the MEGA expansion boxes from #6 down, which are at 16.08 or fewer. The turnover reflects collectors who keep boxes sealed rather than players opening a new set. If our data on October 31 shows sales per day for either box at half the current level or less, we will revise our view and treat the buying as temporary.
Ranks 6 to 10
From #6 down, sales per day fall between 13 and 16, and the gaps narrow. Three MEGA expansion boxes, アビスアイ (¥7,945), メガブレイブ (¥8,800) and ニンジャスピナー (¥8,500), cluster around ¥8,000. The special box ポケモンセンターフクオカ at #8 has a median of ¥13,500. Inferno X (M2) at #9 has a median of ¥18,000, and its lowest listing on September 29 was ¥16,890.
Sales counts are those we recorded on Japanese marketplaces, not total market sales. For products whose records cover fewer than 30 days (such as #1, #4 and #5), sales per day are based on the shorter period. Lowest listings are shown only for products where we captured them on September 29.
Our overall view
We see the box market at a stage where current MEGA sets carry the volume and older Scarlet & Violet sets carry the value. Seven of the top ten are MEGA products, and excluding the starter deck their medians sit between ¥7,945 and ¥18,000. ポケモンカード151, by contrast, has a median of ¥53,999 and still ranks fourth on volume. The main driver of volume is opening demand for new sets, while collector demand for older sealed boxes lifts the price range.
Over the next 2–4 weeks, we think the October 16 release of the 30th CELEBRATION card set is likely to split opening budgets and reduce daily sales of current MEGA expansion boxes such as Storm Emeralda (M6). No 30th CELEBRATION box appears in this top 20. If M6 still sells 30 or more boxes a day 2 weeks after that release, we will revise our view and conclude that opening demand has not moved to the new product.
