Published October 7, 2026 ・ Data as of 2026-10-07 05:45 JST ・ Huaqi Future Co., Ltd.

Data as of: our market data updated 05:45 JST, October 7, 2026; posts on X from October 1 to October 6, 2026. Figures are reference prices from third-party sales, not our selling prices. Our views are for reference only and are not investment advice.

This week’s topics

We read posts from October 1 to October 6 by the Japanese Pokémon card accounts on X that we follow, picked those about restocks, prices and store arrivals, and grouped them into four topics. Posts are summarized here; follow each link for the original. Amounts quoted from posts are the posters’ own figures, not sale prices we have verified.

  • Posts on when 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) will be restocked, and an unconfirmed rumor about what restocked boxes contain
  • The 30th CELEBRATION Card Set (9 types), released October 16, and how its per-pack cost compares with a box
  • Reports that box prices for MEGA Dream ex (M2a), Storm Emeralda (M6) and 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) softened slightly
  • Falling PSA 10 prices for Rayquaza-line cards from Storm Emeralda (M6), against a rebound for older high-value cards

1. 30th CELEBRATION (M6a): restock timing and a rumor about contents

On X On October 1, @taibuppan posted that restocks of Storm Emeralda (M6) and 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) would start around Thursday, October 8. In a September 22 post the same account had said mid-October, so the expected timing has moved earlier. On October 5, @takahiro_012 said he had seen a post claiming that restocked 30th CELEBRATION boxes would not include the RGB ミュウ card, and asked whether it was true.

Our data Price moves for cards in 30th CELEBRATION are not yet reflected in our market data. Product contents and the release date are on our 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) product page.

Our view We see 30th CELEBRATION at a wait-and-see stage, with prices reacting far less than the volume of talk would suggest. Of the posts we read, 117 from 27 accounts mentioned it, yet the box decline reported in posts was 1.2% on the day. That is because the talk centers on restock timing and a rumor, while actual restock volumes are not yet visible. The rumor will be settled by reports from opened restock boxes, so for box buyers it is the volume that arrives, rather than the rumor, that matters. If no ミュウ turns up in opening reports within 2 weeks of October 8, we will revise our view and assume the rumor is starting to weigh on box prices.

2. The Card Set (9 types) released on October 16

On X On October 5, @Meisy_TCG_News put the full nine-type set of the 30th CELEBRATION Card Set (9 types) at ¥10,800 and compared it with boxes of 20 packs that are trading at around ¥26,000. By that post’s estimate, a pack costs about ¥600 through the card sets and about ¥1,300 through a box, a gap of about ¥700 per pack. On October 6, @pokecachan and @PokeGetInfoMain reported that a major convenience store chain would sell two of the card sets, フシギダネ・ヒトカゲ・ゼニガメ and ニャオハ・ホゲータ・クワッス, on a first-come basis from 7:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16.

Our data The card sets have not been released yet, so they are not yet reflected in our market data. The release date and contents are on our Card Set product page.

Our view We think the card sets will matter more for box prices than as a bargain for buyers. If a pack really costs about ¥700 less through the card sets, as one post estimates, some people who simply want to open packs will switch, because they get the same packs for less, removing part of the demand behind the box premium. Supply is limited, though: posts say one major convenience store chain will stock at most six of each set per store. For box buyers: if boxes hold the ¥25,000 range in the week after the release, the substitution is small; if they approach the ¥23,000 buyback level, we will revise our view and treat it as advancing, rather than marginal.

3. Box prices soften slightly

On X On October 4, @ZeniKame_Pokeca described box prices as slightly weak overall: MEGA Dream ex (M2a) from ¥12,400 to ¥11,900 (-4.0%) and 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) from ¥26,000 to ¥25,700 (-1.2%). An October 3 post quoted in the same post put Storm Emeralda (M6) boxes at ¥9,500, down from ¥9,999 (-5.0%). On October 5, @Zabi_pokeka reported that buyback prices for 30th CELEBRATION boxes were holding at ¥23,000.

Our data Box prices are not yet reflected in our market data. Release dates and contents are on our product pages for MEGA Dream ex (M2a), Storm Emeralda (M6) and 30th CELEBRATION (M6a).

Our view We think the different declines reflect differences in how much each set is reaching store shelves. In the same week that posts showed long lines for MEGA Dream ex at Pokémon Centers (@Zone_Axie) and Storm Emeralda (M6) boxes on sale at major electronics retailers (@gamegetnavi), the two sets fell 4.0% and 5.0%. 30th CELEBRATION also has store-arrival reports but fell only 1.2%, and its ¥23,000 buyback price held. The point is the gap between sets rather than general weakness. For box buyers: if the 30th buyback price drops below ¥23,000 within the next 2 weeks, we will revise our view and treat 30th as entering the same stage.

4. Rayquaza-line PSA 10 prices fall while older cards rebound

On X In an October 5 roundup, @Zabi_pokeka reported that PSA 10 prices for the レックウザ SAR and MUR from Storm Emeralda (M6) were still falling, while PSA 10 copies of the ブラッキーVMAX SA had recovered to ¥680,000. On October 4, @shoukinopokeka quoted his own September 28 post, which said the メガレックウザ MUR had gone from ¥290,000 to ¥80,000, and wrote that something unusual was happening in the market.

Our data ブラッキーVMAX (S6a 095/069), ranked 8th in our TOP100, has a PSA 10 price of ¥700,000 (+15.07% over 7 days, -23.59% over 30 days). The older レックウザVMAX (S7R 083/067), ranked 15th, has a PSA 10 price of ¥910,000 (+10.59% over 7 days, -22.51% over 30 days).

Our view We see a split between Rayquaza cards from Storm Emeralda (M6), which is reported to be restocked, and older sets. Against posts saying PSA 10 prices for the M6 SAR and MUR keep falling, our data show the older レックウザV at -28.34% in mint over 7 days but +10.85% in PSA 10. Because older sets face no extra graded supply from restocks, buyers are favoring their graded copies. Rather than the unusual move one poster describes, this looks like a predictable rotation. For PSA 10 collectors: if 7-day PSA 10 changes for the older cards turn negative within the next 2 weeks, we will revise our view and treat it as broad weakness.

What to watch next week

  • Whether the restocks of 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) and Storm Emeralda (M6), said to start around October 8, actually begin, and whether an official announcement follows
  • 30th CELEBRATION box prices around the October 16 release of the Card Set (9 types)
  • Whether 7-day PSA 10 changes for older high-value cards such as ブラッキーVMAX (S6a 095/069) stay positive

Our overall view

We see the Japanese-edition market this week at the stage where prices are absorbing more supply on store shelves. The main driver is restocks and wider retail sales: boxes of Storm Emeralda (M6) and MEGA Dream ex (M2a), and PSA 10 prices for Rayquaza-line cards from M6, are falling, while the older ブラッキーVMAX and レックウザVMAX, with no restock talk, gained 15.07% and 10.59% in PSA 10 over 7 days. 30th CELEBRATION is the main topic of discussion, but its prices have barely moved.

Over the next 2–4 weeks, we think boxes from sets reported as being restocked are likely to keep easing, while PSA 10 prices for older high-value cards are likely to hold up. The biggest uncertainty is the actual size of the restocks; there has been no official announcement yet. If the 30th buyback price falls below ¥23,000 after the October 16 Card Set release, we will revise our view and conclude that the 30th premium is shrinking faster.
