10 Japanese Pokémon Cards with the Biggest PSA 10 Premium (October 2026)

Published October 16, 2026 ・ Data as of 2026-10-15 05:45 JST ・ Huaqi Future Co., Ltd.

All figures come from our market data as updated at 05:45 JST on October 15, 2026, compared with the same data for October 8 and September 15. They are reference prices from third-party sales, not our selling prices. Our views are for reference only and are not investment advice.

How the premium is measured

In this article, the premium is the latest PSA 10 price divided by the latest mint price, rounded to two decimal places. We cover the TOP100 in our market data, the 100 Japanese-edition Pokémon cards with the highest latest prices, and include only cards with at least three sales records for both mint and PSA 10 copies. On October 15, all 100 cards met that condition. The three-record rule keeps a single sale from distorting the ratio for a card.

A high premium means that copies graded PSA 10 are valued far above ungraded mint copies; a low premium means the two sell for similar amounts. The “premium 7 days ago” column applies the same calculation to the data for October 8; a dash means there was no figure for that date. The TOP100 rank is the card’s position by latest mint price, the same order used on our market pages.

What the top ten have in common

At #1, マリオピカチュウ (294/XY-P) has a latest mint price of ¥50,000 against a PSA 10 price of ¥5,490,000, a premium of 109.8 times, far ahead of every other card. A week earlier it was already 98.0 times. Cards #2 to #10 sit in a much narrower band, from 11.14 to 16.26 times. Because a latest price can move sharply on a single sale, the #1 figure depends heavily on where the latest mint price happens to sit, and should be read with that in mind.

By the code in the card number, three are XY-P (#1, #4 and #7), two are SM-P (#2 and #5) and one is S-P (#6), so promo cards make up six of the ten. The other four are two CP6 cards (#8 and #9) and one card each from SM1M and SM4+. No card with a set code beginning with M appears. On TOP100 rank, nine of the ten sit below #13, so the cards with the highest mint prices are not the ones with the widest premiums.

Compared with a week earlier, eight of the ten premiums rose. ピカチュウ (279/XY-P) was unchanged at 14.29 times, and ルザミーネ (SM4+ 120/114) has no figure for October 8. Eight of the ten show a 7-day mint change of ±0.00%. On the PSA 10 side, コダック rose +32.45%, リーリエ (SM1M 066/060) +11.93%, ギャラドスごっこピカチュウ +10.29% and リザードンEX (CP6 090/087) +10.22% over 7 days. ルザミーネ moved in opposite directions, with mint at -15.69% and PSA 10 at +19.57%.

Our view We think the top-ten premiums widened because PSA 10 prices rose while mint copies barely traded. Eight of the ten show a 7-day mint change of ±0.00%, while eight posted PSA 10 gains, led by コダック at +32.45%. The gap opened because buyers moved into PSA 10 copies first, rather than because mint prices fell. That favours collectors holding PSA 10 copies, but because mint sales have stalled, the ratios are likely somewhat higher than the real trading level. If mint sales resume in the October 22 update and the top-ten premiums shrink back to their levels of a week earlier, we will revise our view.

The median premium and the cards with the smallest gap

The median premium across the TOP100 was 4.19 times on September 15, 3.87 times on October 8 and 4.53 times on October 15, each calculated over 100 cards. The premium narrowed from mid-September to early October, then widened again over the past week to a level above where it stood a month earlier.

The five cards with the smallest premiums are ブラッキーGX (125/SM-P) at 0.86 times, こくばバドレックスVMAX (S6K 086/070) at 1.6 times, ポンチョを着たイーブイ (144/SM-P) at 1.68 times, ポンチョを着たイーブイ (142/SM-P) at 1.88 times and N (XY 180/171) at 1.89 times. For ブラッキーGX, mint is ¥175,100 and PSA 10 is ¥150,000, so on latest prices the graded copy is the cheaper of the two. こくばバドレックスVMAX has 1,394 PSA 10 records, the most of the five.

Our view The same card name can carry very different premiums: ポンチョを着たイーブイ 141/SM-P stands at 14.26 times, 142/SM-P at 1.88 times and 144/SM-P at 1.68 times. Mint prices are close, from ¥69,999 to ¥83,500, so the gap sits on the PSA 10 side. Because 142 and 144 have only 47 and 51 PSA 10 records yet still show low premiums, we think demand for specific card numbers, rather than the number of graded copies, is likely setting the premium. For submitters and collectors, the card name alone says little about how a PSA 10 copy is valued. If the premiums for 142 and 144 rise above the TOP100 median of 4.53 times within 2 weeks, by October 29, we will revise our view.

Points to keep in mind

  • The premium compares two latest prices and can change sharply on a single sale. Each card page also shows the high, average and low prices and the number of records.
  • A 7-day mint change of ±0.00% may mean that no new price was recorded during the week.
  • Only cards in the TOP100 are included; cards outside it are not part of the calculation.

Our overall view

We see the PSA 10 premium on high-value Japanese cards at a stage where it has moved from shrinking to widening again. The median premium was 4.19 times on September 15, 3.87 times on October 8 and 4.53 times on October 15, now above its level of a month earlier. The main driver is rising PSA 10 prices. None of the top ten carries a set code beginning with M; the list is made up of six promo cards and cards from CP6, SM1M and SM4+. Promo cards are never restocked, and for cards like these the value placed on a graded copy, rather than new supply, sets the price, which is why their premiums are the widest.

Over the next 2–4 weeks, we think premiums are likely to stay high, led by the PSA 10 side. Part of the rise, however, reflects stalled mint sales, since many of these cards show a 7-day mint change of ±0.00%. If the median falls below the 3.87 times recorded on October 8 in the October 22 or October 29 update, we will revise our view and treat the move as a temporary rebound rather than a renewed widening.
