Top 10 Most Valuable Japanese Pokémon Cards (October 23, 2026)

How the ranking works

Our market data lists the top 100 Japanese-edition Pokémon cards and updates every morning at 05:45 JST. Since October 20, 2026, the TOP100 has been ranked by the latest PSA 10 price. This article covers the top ten as of October 22, 2026.

The “rank 7 days ago” column uses the October 15 data, when cards were still ranked by mint price. Because the basis changed, a move in rank does not by itself mean a move in price. Card names are given in Japanese as printed, followed by the card number; the set code is the code inside the card number.

What the top ten have in common

By set code, six of the ten are XY-P (ranks 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9), three are SM-P (ranks 1, 5 and 6) and one is BW-P (rank 10), so all ten are promo cards. Seven card names contain ピカチュウ (Pikachu), and three of them are ポンチョを着たピカチュウ, at #4, #7 and #9.

All ten cards show a 7-day mint change of ±0.00%, and eight of the ten show ±0.00% for PSA 10 over 7 days. Over 30 days, eight have a negative PSA 10 change; the two exceptions are ピカチュウ (279/XY-P) and ミミッキュ (289/SM-P).

The ten cards, one by one

#1 リーリエ (397/SM-P) Its PSA 10 price of ¥11,000,000 is more than twice that of #2. From October 15 to 22, neither its mint nor its PSA 10 latest price changed. Its 43 PSA 10 records are the fewest in the top ten.

#2 マリオピカチュウ (294/XY-P) In the daily data, its latest mint price changed from ¥50,000 on October 17 to ¥1,400,000 on October 18, while PSA 10 stayed at ¥5,490,000. Its 30-day mint change is -26.55%.

#3 ピカチュウ (279/XY-P) PSA 10 ¥5,000,000 against mint ¥349,999, one of the widest gaps between the two grades in this list. It has 119 PSA 10 records but only 21 mint records.

#4 ポンチョを着たピカチュウ (207/XY-P) The highest PSA 10 price of the three ポンチョを着たピカチュウ cards, at ¥3,685,000. Its 30-day PSA 10 change of -8.65% is the largest fall in the top ten.

#5 アセロラ (395/SM-P) Its PSA 10 price was updated from ¥3,380,000 to ¥3,420,000 on October 21, a 7-day change of +1.18%. Its 14 mint records are the fewest in the top ten.

#6 ミミッキュ (289/SM-P) The data shows a 30-day mint change of +1356.42%. In the daily data from October 15 to 22, mint stayed at ¥354,444 and PSA 10 at ¥3,400,000.

#7 ポンチョを着たピカチュウ (208/XY-P) Its PSA 10 price fell to ¥2,630,000 on October 18, then rose to ¥2,879,999 on October 22. The 7-day change of +2.42% is the largest rise in the top ten.

#8 ルイージピカチュウ (296/XY-P) Its mint price of ¥710,400 is the second highest in the top ten. Its PSA 10 price was updated from ¥2,780,000 to ¥2,850,000 on October 16.

#9 ポンチョを着たピカチュウ (231/XY-P) With 370 PSA 10 records, it has the most PSA 10 data in the top ten. Its 30-day mint change is -21.57%.

#10 ピカチュウ (229/BW-P) The only card in the top ten with the set code BW-P. Its PSA 10 price was updated from ¥2,400,000 to ¥2,520,000 on October 16, and its 198 mint records are the most in the top ten.

The PSA 10 premium over mint

The median PSA 10 premium over mint across the TOP100 was 3.69 times on September 22, 4.53 times on October 15 and 5.99 times on October 22. The October 22 figure covers the 97 cards that have both prices. Because the October 20 change of ranking basis altered which cards are in the TOP100, part of this rise reflects a different set of cards.

Our overall view

We see the top of the high-value list at a stage where PSA 10 prices of promo cards set the order and prices are fixed while waiting for sales. All ten are SM-P, XY-P or BW-P promo cards, and all ten show a 7-day mint change of ±0.00%. Because promo cards are never restocked, new supply comes only from graded copies, so PSA 10 scarcity is the main driver of price. We think the rise in the median premium from 4.53 to 5.99 times reflects the switch to PSA 10 ranking, which brought high-premium cards into the TOP100, rather than a sudden widening of the premium.

Over the next 2–4 weeks, we think the ten names are likely to stay largely the same, with rank changes coming from cards whose PSA 10 prices are still updating. This week the PSA 10 prices of 208/XY-P and アセロラ rose, yet eight of the ten are down over 30 days, so these cards are not being bought back at higher prices. If the median falls below 4.53 times on November 5, or if two or more top promo cards move by more than 10% in a week, we will revise our view.
