Data as of: our market data updated 05:45 JST, November 3, 2026; posts on X from October 29 to November 4, 2026. Figures are reference prices from third-party sales, not our selling prices. Our views are for reference only and are not investment advice.

This week’s topics

We read posts from October 29 to November 4 by the Japanese Pokémon card accounts on X that we follow, picked those about grading, releases, supply and prices, and grouped them into four topics. Posts are summarized here; follow each link for the original. Amounts quoted from posts are the posters’ own figures, not sale prices we have verified.

  • PSA’s lower-cost Value service reopened on October 30, and raw copies of 30th CELEBRATION cards drew buying
  • 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) boxes slipped as reports of in-store sales spread
  • Limited 30th cards showed widely different gaps between PSA 10 and grade-A raw copies
  • Four trademarks that may be titles of new sets came to light

1. PSA Value reopens

On X On October 29, @mix_choice25809 reported that the Value plan returns for submissions from October 30, at ¥5,980 with a turnaround of 120 business days (about six months). On the morning of October 30, @ZeniKame_Pokeca wrote that 30th anniversary cards were rising across the board after the reopening, with ピカチュウ(夜)ex SAR moving from ¥6,333 to ¥7,000 (+10.5%). On October 31, the same account noted that at a ¥5,980 fee, many low-priced cards still do not pay for grading. On November 1, @MunPika_Pokemon pointed out that recent Japanese-edition sets reach PSA 10 at roughly 80%–95%, while ゼイユ SAR stands at 29% across more than 16,000 submissions.

Our data In our TOP100 as of November 3, cards with a positive 7-day PSA 10 change rose from 23 the previous week to 32, and negative ones fell from 37 to 30. Over 30 days, 79 cards are up and 14 down, against 40 up and 51 down a week earlier. The median PSA 10 premium over mint was 3.36 times on November 3, 3.17 times on October 27 and 2.28 times on October 4.

Our view We think the first thing the Value reopening moved was raw copies bought for grading, rather than graded cards themselves. The rises cited in posts are for raw SAR copies, and because turnaround is about six months, new PSA 10 copies will not reach the market soon. Our TOP100 agrees: the median premium rose from 3.17 to 3.36 times, so the extra paid for graded copies has widened, not narrowed. For submitters, this is a stage where raw costs are rising, and cards with low PSA 10 rates, such as ゼイユ SAR at 29%, become harder to justify. If the median falls below 3.17 times on November 10, we will read it as the reopening starting to weigh on graded prices too.

2. 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) box prices and supply

On X On October 31, @ZeniKame_Pokeca wrote that 30th anniversary SAR cards were trending up, with ミュウex SAR moving from ¥5,400 to ¥6,000 (+11.1%), while 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) boxes fell from ¥23,899 to ¥22,799 (−4.6%). On supply, @gamegetnavi listed sales by store at a major electronics retailer on October 28, with five stores not selling; in a November 1 post, the same account listed only two stores not selling on October 31. On the morning of November 2, @mirar_times summarized reports of buying 30th packs and Card Sets at major convenience stores, with some stores limiting purchases to one pack per person.

Our data Prices for 30th CELEBRATION boxes and their cards are not yet reflected in our market data. Last week’s box prices are in our previous article.

Our view We think 30th CELEBRATION boxes are moving from the early to the middle stage of a premium squeeze. Stores not selling at a major electronics retailer fell from five to two, convenience store purchase reports continued, and boxes fell to ¥22,799 because supply is spreading. In the same week, single SAR cards rose, so we read the box decline as a shift to pricing boxes for opening and selling singles, rather than a loss of interest. For box buyers, the value of the contents now sets the price more than sealed scarcity. If boxes stay below ¥22,799 through November 17 and single cards also turn down, we will see the squeeze as entering its middle stage.

3. PSA 10 premiums on limited 30th cards

On X On November 2, @sunrising162136 compared the two limited promos in the FUTURISTIC BOX: 昼ピカチュウ [131/M-P] at ¥37,000 in grade A and ¥92,000 in PSA 10 (about 2.5 times), and 夜ピカチュウ [132/M-P] at ¥33,000 and ¥92,000 (about 2.8 times). The same day, the account compared cards from the Premium Deck Set: ブラッキーex at ¥17,000 in grade A and ¥100,000 in PSA 10 (about 5.9 times), and エーフィex at ¥6,000 and ¥70,000 (about 11.7 times), adding that it is unclear whether these prices hold as PSA 10 counts grow. On November 3, @shoukinopokeka put ミュウex FUR [M6a 135/103] at ¥72,000–73,000 in PSA 10 and around ¥7,250 in grade A. The post says two FUR cards that hit PSA 10 highs on October 27–28 have fallen back to near their first sale prices, while only the 30th reprint ルギア holds around ¥160,000.

Our data These 30th CELEBRATION cards are not yet reflected in our market data (TOP100). For comparison, the median PSA 10 premium over mint in our TOP100 was 3.36 times on November 3.

Our view We think graded 30th cards are not uniformly expensive; they are starting to split between cards whose PSA 10 copies circulate easily and those that stay scarce. The two FUR cards fell back to their first sale levels after peaking, likely because more PSA 10 copies kept arriving, in contrast with ルギア holding around ¥160,000. The ratios in posts range from about 2.5 to about 11.7 times, and エーフィex stands far above the 3.36-times median in our TOP100. For collectors, ratios this soon after release are not a settled valuation. If ミュウex FUR is below ¥72,000 in PSA 10 on November 24, we think high-premium cards are likely to narrow first.

4. Trademarks that may be new set titles

On X On the morning of October 29, @PokeGetInfoMain and @pokecachan reported trademarks for マグマの鼓動, イナズマの衝撃, オーロラの波紋 and バトルスタートデッキ, noting that past patterns suggest they could be new set titles. The same day, @pokecamatomeru and @Zabi_pokeka speculated about a link to エンテイ, スイクン and ライコウ, which appeared in the introduction video for the new ex★ series. All of this is inference from trademarks, not an official product announcement.

Our data These products have not been announced and are not yet reflected in our market data. In our TOP100 as of November 3, cards with a negative 7-day mint change fell from 13 the previous week to 7, and those with a negative 7-day PSA 10 change fell from 37 to 30.

Our view We think the trademark talk left little trace on older-card prices this week, because in the week including October 29, cards in our TOP100 with a negative 7-day mint change fell from 13 to 7, and negative PSA 10 cards fell from 37 to 30. Posts spread across 13 accounts, but on the sales side we see buying after the Value reopening outweighing any rotation into new sets, rather than money leaving older cards. For collectors holding older エンテイ, スイクン or ライコウ cards, prices are unlikely to move on talk alone before an official announcement. If related older cards turn positive over 7 days within 2 weeks of an official announcement, we will see the talk as having reached sales.

What to watch next week

  • Whether the 3.36-times median premium in our TOP100 still holds on November 10, after the Value reopening
  • Whether 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) boxes fall further from ¥22,799, and whether in-store sales reports continue
  • Whether ミュウex FUR [M6a 135/103] holds around ¥72,000 in PSA 10, and ルギア around ¥160,000
  • Whether an official product announcement follows for the four trademarked titles

Our overall view

We see the Japanese-edition market this week at a stage where the premium on 30th CELEBRATION boxes is shrinking as store supply spreads, while the PSA Value reopening has brought back buying aimed at grading. The main driver is the Value reopening on October 30. In our TOP100 as of November 3, cards with a positive 30-day PSA 10 change rose from 40 to 79, and the median premium rose from 3.17 to 3.36 times, well above 2.28 times on October 4.

Over the next 2–4 weeks, we think PSA 10 prices for older cards are likely to stay firm, while the premium on 30th CELEBRATION boxes is likely to narrow gradually as supply spreads. With Value turnaround at about six months, we see no reason for PSA 10 supply to jump in that period. The biggest uncertainty is whether an official new-set announcement pulls money away from older cards. If the median premium falls below 3.17 times on November 17, we will revise our view and conclude that buying for grading has run its course.
