All figures come from our market data as updated at 05:45 JST on November 5, 2026, compared with the same data for October 29 and October 6. They are reference prices from third-party sales, not our selling prices. Our views are for reference only and are not investment advice.
How the premium is measured
In this article, the premium is the latest PSA 10 price divided by the latest mint price, rounded to two decimal places. We cover the TOP100 in our market data, the 100 Japanese-edition Pokémon cards with the highest latest prices, and include only cards with at least three sales records for both mint and PSA 10 copies. On November 5, all 100 cards met that condition. The three-record rule keeps a single sale from distorting the ratio for a card.
A high premium means that copies graded PSA 10 are valued far above ungraded mint copies; a low premium means the two sell for similar amounts. The “premium 7 days ago” column applies the same calculation to the data for October 29, and the TOP100 rank is the card’s position on our market pages.

What the top ten have in common
At #1, ブラッキー (188/BW-P) has a latest mint price of ¥45,000 against a PSA 10 price of ¥929,999, a premium of 20.67 times. That is up from 18.13 times a week earlier and far ahead of the 11.11 times at #2. Its mint side has only 17 sales records, the fewest of the ten, against 62 for PSA 10.
The line-up is the same ten cards as in our previous article published on October 30; only the order changed. By the code in the card number, five are SM-P (#2, #5, #7, #8 and #10) and one is BW-P (#1), so promo cards make up six of the ten. The other four are two CP6 cards (#6 and #9) and one card each from XY10 and XY. No card with a set code beginning with M appears. By card name, ポンチョを着たイーブイ takes four places, and ブラッキー and ブラッキーEX one each.
Compared with a week earlier, four premiums rose, two fell and four were unchanged. The four that rose were ブラッキー (188/BW-P), ブラッキーEX (XY10 082/078), from 8.99 to 9.21 times, こわいおねえさん (XY 184/171), from 7.55 to 8.99 times, and ピカチュウEX (CP6 094/087), from 6.58 to 6.65 times. Only two showed a positive 7-day PSA 10 change, XY 184/171 at +10.34% and CP6 094/087 at +1.14%; the other eight were at ±0.00%. All ten show a 7-day mint change of ±0.00%.
The two premiums that fell did so for different reasons. For ポンチョを着たイーブイ (141/SM-P), the latest PSA 10 price of ¥969,500 is the same as in our previous article, while the latest mint price now stands at ¥150,000, so the premium narrowed from 8.82 to 6.46 times and the card dropped to #10. It has 164 mint sales records, the most of the ten. For リザードンEX (CP6 090/087), the mint price of ¥75,000 is unchanged from our previous article, and a latest PSA 10 price of ¥570,000 took the premium from 8.52 to 7.6 times.
Our view All ten showed a 7-day mint change of ±0.00%, so the condition set in our previous article, a mint price move for five or more of the top ten, was not met. We think premiums moved because thin trading lets a single sale replace the latest price, rather than because mint prices fell. The same ten cards remain, six of them promo cards that are never restocked, so we think it likely that graded copies continue to set prices for these numbers. For collectors holding PSA 10 copies, valuations held through the week. If more of the top ten show a falling premium than a rising one in the November 12 update, we will treat the widening phase as over.
The median premium and the cards with the smallest gap
The median premium across the TOP100 was 2.48 times on October 6, 3.44 times on October 29 and 3.43 times on November 5, each calculated over 100 cards. It widened sharply during October and was almost flat over the past week. We corrected the import of mint-category data on October 25, as noted in our previous article, so part of the gap from the 2.48 times on October 6 may reflect that correction.
The five cards with the smallest premiums are サンダースVMAX (188/S-P) at 1.05 times, ピカチュウ (400/SM-P) at 1.08 times, ブースターVMAX (186/S-P) at 1.2 times, リザードンEX (276/XY-P) at 1.39 times and ギラティナV (s11 111/100) at 1.58 times. All five premiums are lower than a week earlier, and all five posted negative 7-day PSA 10 changes, ranging from -1.71% to -2.44%. Their latest mint prices range from ¥175,000 to ¥950,000, far above the ¥45,000 to ¥200,000 range of the top ten.
ギラティナV (s11 111/100) is the only card among the five that is not a promo, and it has the most sales records, 4,200 for mint and 5,337 for PSA 10. Its mint price rose +13.86% over 7 days while PSA 10 fell -1.71%, and its premium narrowed from 1.89 to 1.58 times. For リザードンEX (276/XY-P), mint changed -4.71% and PSA 10 -2.34%, taking the premium from 1.54 to 1.39 times.
Our view All five lowest-premium cards posted negative 7-day PSA 10 changes, the opposite of the top ten, where PSA 10 prices were flat or higher. We think the adjustment came from the PSA 10 side because a grade adds little to cards already valued highly as mint copies. The median barely moved, from 3.44 to 3.43 times, but we read that as the two ends drifting apart rather than the premium settling. For submitters, the extra value of a PSA 10 grade now depends even more on the mint price band. If 276/XY-P does not return to its 1.54 times of a week earlier within 2 weeks, by November 19, we think the narrowing at the bottom is likely to continue.
Points to keep in mind
- The premium compares two latest prices and can change sharply on a single sale. Each card page also shows the high, average and low prices and the number of records.
- A 7-day change of ±0.00% may mean that no new price was recorded during the week. As with ブラッキー (188/BW-P), a premium can still differ from a week earlier even when the 7-day change shows ±0.00%.
- Only cards in the TOP100 are included; cards outside it are not part of the calculation.
Our overall view
We see the PSA 10 premium on high-value Japanese cards entering a stage where it holds flat at a high level after widening in October. The median premium rose from 2.48 times on October 6 to 3.44 times on October 29, and stood at 3.43 times on November 5. The top ten are the same cards as last time, centred on six promo cards. For numbers that are never restocked, mint sales are thin and the value placed on graded copies sets the price, which is why their premiums are the widest. Meanwhile, the bottom five, with mint prices of ¥175,000 or more, all saw their premiums narrow, so the gap between the two price tiers is growing.
The main driver this week was the PSA 10 side rather than mint: PSA 10 prices were flat or higher at the top and lower at the bottom. Over the next 2–4 weeks, we think the median is likely to stay flat around 3.43 times. The biggest uncertainty is whether mint sales resume for the top ten. If mint prices start moving again for the top ten in a November update and the median keeps falling, we will revise our view and treat the premium as entering a narrowing stage rather than a flat one.
